Sunday Bryan and I will be celebrating 7 years of marriage. So rather than going into something all lovey dovey I will list the changes our relationship has made since our special day:
1: We went from family of 2 to family of 4
2: Our 1500sq ft house to 2100sq ft
3: We now sit at the dinner table every evening (before we would eat where ever we felt)
4: We are morning people (well more-so than when we married)
5: Have to plan nights out rather than just going out for the night
6: We communicate more (and yes this goes for Bryan) lol
7: We watch the news together at 10 every evening
8: I no longer care how much time Bryan hunts (use to get my feelings hurt as newlyweds - time away from each other crazy I know)
9: Bryan has fully accepted my control issues, and when he doesn't understand he steps in and "tries to control"
10: We never go to bed mad at each, I like this one, I wish I could say it is for some promise to one another, but we just don't have time to stay mad so we just skip right to the sorrys and make up :) As we grow older we learn from our mistakes, start new traditions and continue old ones, and never take each other or our family for granted. Adding Bayler and Braxton did kinda end our newlywed phase in our marriage. But we make time for each other and always do date nights, big thanks to our parents.
I love that Bryan and I's relationship continues to grow. We work hard at our marriage and each year that goes by I look back at how better it was from the one before. We have our disagreements but we don't have "An Out" we are in it to win it. Considering we are both competitive I think we are confident we will win this! We laugh, cry, yell, hug, kiss, and say I love you as much as possible (well not yell)
We spent Sunday celebrating Bryan's step dad's 50th. Family, friends, and great food can always make a get together FUN. We love Mark and are so blessed to have him in our lives. My kids are crazy for their Grampy. Shelley had her house decorated so cute, unfortunately I didn't get as many pics as I wanted because we had to leave the party early to go to another bday party. Bayler's first skate party!
We celebrated 2 amazing men this weekend! My dad and Bryan's. Bryan and I wouldn't be who we are without their guidance.
So my dad's official birthday will be on September 27th, but because he is soooo special (and we are all crazy busy) we decided to have a birthday dinner for him this past Saturday. The crew gathered at our house. We had a spagetti bake, chicken spagetti, ceasar salad, french bread, and Kailey made the birthday cake. We enjoyed great food, family pics, football, and just spending time together.
Now I have to share how special my daddy is in honor of him turning 50. He has and is always there for me. He leads by example! When I was younger my time was short but always sweet with him. I got to see him every other weekend, and he would try to cram two weeks time apart into the 2 days we would have. Of course I would have loved more, Much more time with him, but we knew the time we had was precious and we soaked up every second. We have spent so many hours talking on the phone, meeting for lunches, and building our close relationship any chance we got. I will never take my dad for granted. I go to him for knowledge, confidence, security, to vent, etc. We always end all phone calls and goodbyes with I Love You. I am blessed to have him in my life. He may think he is old because of the new decade he is approaching but I think he looks the best he ever has!
We had a cousins night over at my cousin Nicole's house. There were 9 cousins, 10 second cousins, and one of our uncles. oh plus our spouses. Can you say Packed House. But it was fun, loud, and crazy. We always have a great time when we get together, we were missing some cousins though so we are going to have to do a make up reunion. We got together to meet the ever so cute and chunky monkey... Hudson James, my cousin Tiffany's little boy. He was as cute as can be! Thanks to everyone who came and we have to do it again just sooner than later.
I am so blessed to have these people in my life and I am lucky to call them family
I have been blessed with amazing women in my life. They have been my mom's friends for many years and as I was growing up they called me a "mini Yaya" Once I got married and popped some babies out I finally graduated to full "YaYa" Now we have some new "mini Yayas". The bond between women is indescribable. Sometimes we don't even have to say what we are thinking or feeling, they just know. These women have been around me since I was a little girl. They enjoyed (or dealt with) happy hours with my mom as she was going crazy with me as a teenager, they threw showers for me when I was getting married, and then they gathered together for when I was having my babies. We are very busy going all different directions in our lives, but we are marking our calendar every month for a get together, taking turns at each one of our houses. Can't wait for the next on ladies! YAYA
Look at my sweet little boy. He has gone from long blonde hair and chubby cheeks to a slender spiky haired and green eyed 5 year old. I know it gets said all the time but man does time fly by. I remember finding out we were pregnant, then finding out he was a HE. Bryan and I walking around the hospital to get my labor to progress, bringing him home, potty training, first day of Mothers Day Out. And now he is in Pre-K, an awesome big brother, constantly in character, a chatter box, and always chillin in his undies. Even though he is the big "5" he still loves his blankets, loves his chocolate milks, has to love on his mommy, play fights with his daddy, and continues to have the same smile he had even when is was my tiny baby. As our lives continue to be jam packed with activities Bryan and I try to make it a point to slow down and watch /remember our babies growing up. We can't believe it has already been 5 years! We are so proud of our little guy and can't wait to see what this year holds for him. Happy birthday Bayler
So my sadness for now is being overlooked because I love planning for parties! Bayler is turing 5 years old. We are excited and getting everything ready for the special day. Transformer themed and it couldn't be more perfect for the certain "fav characters" he has been acting out. There will be many more pics after this weekend
So on Labor Day, while Braxton napped with my mom, and Bryan was getting his food plot ready for the hunting season, I decided to take Bayler exploring. Well he ended up taking me exploring. He wanted to go everywhere and I was a little nervous. When we pulled up we saw about 10 huge turkeys and a coyote. I mean come on, I was not 100% on just marching thru the woods, but like a good and brave (ha) mommy I did what my leader said. We came across this tree and spent most of our time climbing it (Bayler of course not so much me) then while heading back to Bryan so him and Bay could go fishing we came across these "treasures" A jaw of a Bobcat and a leg from a turkey. Yes he did make me pick them up and take to Bryan to show. I couldn't get to the antibacteria fast enough. It's Bayler's week so I would do anything for my soon to be 5 year old.
I married my best friend in September of 2004. We have two beautiful children, Bayler 6 and Braxton 3. They keep me very busy as a stay at home mother. I am very close to my mom who visits me and the kids on a regular basis. We live in our hometown, b/c both sides of our family are close and couldn't think of a better place to raise our family. I wouldn't change anything about my life, I am blessed every day.
